Carol Schram: The 2021-22 Schedule for the Vancouver Canucks looks...pretty good?? With their heavy travel burden, the Vancouver Canucks' schedule usually seems to be littered with landmines. After a very challenging year in the North Division, the plan for the 2021-22 campaign actually looks quite team friendly.

Wow Carol, that’s quite the breakdown. Thorough job👍🏻.
Hopefully injuries will be down this year because of it.

I would like to see a schedule where when on the road you play all the teams in that area, ie, California teams,NY/NJ etc.

There's been lots of interesting models suggested over the years and I like the Toews one in particular. That said I remember a radio interview a couple years ago with a former exec, Gilman perhaps, that described all the different factors that go into scheduling.

He didn't straight up say it but seemed to infer that the NHL typically is playing 2nd or 3rd fiddle.

Around a 3rd of arenas house NBA teams as well which make more money, many entertainment shows are more profitable and some are booked years in advance, Chicago circus is a classic example.

Many arenas are not owned by NHL owners giving them very little sway over these conditions and resulting in nonsensical schedules.

Remember when the California teams were dominating? I think they used to call those road trips murderer’s row.

Just don't bother with the Olympics anymore. I have a hard time getting behind a Canadian squad will have no Canucks on them and don't want to root against them either.

Leafs' blog is closed. I've got no where else to go.

You mind if I crash here for a while?

I'll just quietly sit on your new couch with my shirt off.

You mind if I help myself to a beer?

Maybe it was him but I can't remember him saying anything remotely interesting.

Ty Carol

So on earlier posts last blog trading Hughes…

Sign him to a 2yr bridge & see how Bones progresses. If he does very good then Hughes could be better traded at that time. He’ll have an RFA year left with arb rights. Go for a top 4 RHD then.

Looks like Demko at 5m per is another good JB signing.

I like Olympic hockey but don’t like the disruption & crammed & longer season plus potential injuries. I get it it promotes the league but how much globally does it actual do?
